These are my journal pages for JENN R.D.'s Journal Prompt "BALANCE". I'm not sure why blogger will not allow my pics to get bigger anymore, so I hope you can read the text. Although, part of me doesn't want you to because it was a difficult one for me. To realise that I don't really have Balance in my life and often swing between the two extremes is difficult. It's not really swinging in a manic depressive way - it's gentler than that. But in a way that it seems like things are either really good in my life or really bad; I want either perfection or nothing. So, these, while thay contain a bit of humor, which is my way, honestly, of trying to deal with the serious subject, are pretty deep. So please, be gentle with your criticisms, 'kay?! Also, I would like to note that this is the first art journal I have ever done and the first actual journal in a very long time. I find the step of actually using myself as the subject and focus of my art and words a very big one! It's a positive step for me (and very, very new as I tend to focus on others!) and I hope it leads me to many opportunities to make myself a better person! And thus, allow me to be a better and more helpful person towards others! If you are curious about what these pages say and cannot see them, please let me know. I'd be happy to share with you. :)
This is my round robin book page (front and back) for Patti of P.Victoria Creates (link on sidebar). Her theme was woodsy/vintage woodsy/ birds/eggs. The idea behind these pages is that it is a scene in a lightly treed forest and there is a light frosting on the eggs and leaves - difficult to see in these horrible scans! The mama and papa birds are awaiting spring so that their new babies can hatch and sing their beautiful songs. I imagine this place much like winter itsself: still and quiet and yet, there is promise below everything just waiting to burst forth. The words say: List'ning for his song (1st page) and Sweet and Soothing (2nd page). Hope you like them Patti! :)
